Delete your account

Draft — not published, not a legal notice. Written from the deletion code as it stands. Every value marked unresolved is a decision nobody has made yet; this page must not be linked from a store listing, and the app is not submission-ready, until none remains.

You can ask for your account to be deleted, from inside the app or — if you cannot sign in — from here. This page says exactly what is removed, what is not, and why.

From inside the app

Open Profile, then Delete my account, and confirm. This is the quickest route and the one to use if you can still sign in.

If you cannot sign in

Send us the email address the account uses and we send a one-time link to that address. Submitting an address never deletes anything — anybody could type anybody's address. Only someone who opens the link that arrived at that mailbox can confirm it, and only for the account that address belongs to. The link can be used once and expires.

This route is not open in production. The form below works against a configured signer, but nothing here can send email yet: the addresses on this site receive mail, and receiving is not sending. Until a service that sends is chosen and configured, no one-time link can reach anybody, and none ever has. Writing to the address below works today; the form does not. Which sending service to use is unresolved.

We answer the same way whichever address you give, because answering differently would say which addresses have an account here.

What deletion removes

What it does not remove, and why

This is not anonymisation, and we will not call it that. Your school's records stay: a message still has an author, a safeguarding case still has a subject, a membership still says somebody was at that school between two dates. What is gone is the way back from that record to a person — no name, no address, no provider link. The account row survives as an identifier with nothing in it, so the school's records stay internally consistent.

We cannot delete a school's records on one person's request. Messages, the photographs and videos attached to them, call records (who called whom and when — never any audio or video from the call, because none is ever recorded), content reports and safeguarding cases belong to the school's record and are governed by its retention periods and by the safeguarding floor — see the privacy page. Those records age out on the school's schedule.

How long it takes

A request waits 30 days before it completes, so it can be changed your mind about. The date is fixed when you ask and does not move afterwards. An unconfirmed request from the page above is thrown away, with the address it carried, after 30 days.

Both periods are unresolved — current software defaults pending legal review, not a commitment.

What can stop it

An evidence hold on any of your memberships stops a deletion and says so. A hold exists to preserve evidence for a safeguarding or legal reason, and a personal request cannot override it. The request stays visible and blocked rather than quietly failing or quietly completing.
